Job Summary Roles and Responsibilities : Is to verify and approve analysisof samples (FP/ QC / In Process samples / Product samples) in a timely and accurate manner, ensure online data entry in SAP, prepare recipes and get them approved with Production Manager, ensure all instruments are calibrated and in working condition, delegate and distributetasks evenly amongst team as per their competency and skills, monitor quality of in process and final productand take appropriate action in case of any abnormality, ensure upkeep and maintenance of laboratory implementing Good laboratory Practices, keep Unit Head informed of new recipes developed and products on hand in line with availability of raw material.


Planning

  • Plan recipes in line with available raw material and production plan
  • Plan and set priorities for analysis of FP and raw material samples
  • Plan manpower as per work load.
Operations Execution

  • Approve and ensure sampling and analysis done by Chemist is as per standard operating process
  • Ensure adherence to wearing of Safety PPE s and following safety standards.
  • Verify samples with result of analysis
  • If discrepancy found in samples take rejection approval from Unit Head
  • Check raw material stock with Production Manager
  • Verify samples received from inward vehicles and review Quick Check analysis
  • Check recipes and approve or take corrective actions
  • Ensure in process and final product quality and take corrective measures if not
  • Verify daily report and maintain accuracy of data
  • Ensure all instruments are in working condition and get them calibrated or replaced.
  • Ensure all lab reagents and chemicals are available as per standards and discard if expired
  • Approve Plan for calibration of instruments ensuring zero run down time
  • Ensure Good House Keeping Practices are followed and laboratory is kept clean (5S).
Administration

  • Verify retrievable records and documents in line with legal requirement
  • Verify list of all assets and equipment s.
  • Monitor and execute Administrative controls and ensure discipline and seamless laboratory operations at site.
  • Coordinate with Production and Marketing Back office and resolve issues if any
  • Take appropriate action in case of fire, gas emission or exothermic reactions and communicate proactively with concerned, complying with all necessary documentation.
Quality

  • Adhere to Standard operating procedures
  • Physical verification of product quality for zero rejection
  • Calibrated instruments for accuracy
  • Verification of Recipe to ensure no batch rejection.
  • Ensure excellent housekeeping 5 S and maintain clean work environment.
Cost

  • Ensure costs are controlled within sanctioned budgets.
Safety

  • Take charge and direct in case of any abnormality/ accident/incident and ensure necessary statutory compliance.
  • To extend support in Safety Trainings, Mock Drills, emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure all team member wear safety PPE s and adhere to safety procedures.
Housekeeping

  • Ensure 5S is implementedall across theplant.

Desired Candidate Profile : Bsc. / Msc. in Chemistry
