Job Summary

Job Description

Overview Technical Specialist, Capacity and Availability Management will be responsible for ensuring that new and existing services deliver the levels of availability agreed with the business and clients in service level agreements. In addition to this the role the Technical Specialist is responsible for ensuring there is sufficient system capacity to meet current and future demands. As part of this role, the Technical Specialist will determine the availability requirements and capacity demands for new and existing systems to ensure optimal service availability and performance. This role will suit candidates looking to utilise and further enhance their service monitoring, capacity and availability management capabilities. Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
  • Consult with business and IT stakeholders to determine capacity and availability requirements
  • Design and implement Capacity and Availability Management plans and processes.
  • Ensuring that new and existing services deliver the levels of availability agreed with the business and clients in service level agreements.
  • Ensuring there is sufficient system capacity to meet current and future demands.
  • Design technical solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Support and maintain Link Group s global service availability platforms and associated integrations.
  • Promote and champion the current and future capabilities of Link Group s Capacity and Availability Management function.
  • Provide support for the data aggregation, processing, analysis and operational reporting systems including planning, installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Provide detailed and effective reporting of Service Capacity and Availability against agreed targets.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and peers.
  • Mentor and train team members to promote best practice and uplift internal capability.
  • Review, update and continuous improvement of processes, standards, policies and documentation.
  • Provide specialist expertise and advice with regards to Monitoring, Event, Capacity and Availability Management.
  • Effectively manage colleague, client and stakeholder expectations and relationships.
  • Drive cultural change and continuous improvement with regards to Service Monitoring, Capacity and Availability Management.
  • Identify and nurture future leaders within the team.
Governance & Risk
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices.
Experience & Personal Attributes
  • You are an ambitious Technical Specialist who has demonstrated experience in Capacity and Availability Management of Infrastructure, Networks and Applications/API s.
  • Design and development of Capacity/Availability Management solutions and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating Capacity and Availability Management plans
  • Excellent knowledge of Capacity and Availability Management best practices
  • Demonstrated experience improving customer experience via innovative and intuitive technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure, Networks and Applications/API s.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL v3 methodologies and concepts
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience and knowledge in Monitoring, Capacity and Availability Management systems and tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Azure Monitor, CA, BMC, ScienceLogic, HP/Micro Focus, ManageEngine, Oracle Enterprise Manager etc.
  • ServiceNow/Splunk/New Relic/Azure certification and experience preferred.
  • ITIL v3 certification preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including a level of written communication and reporting skills necessary to clearly and concisely describe complex issues and actions.
  • Ability to speak confidently with functional colleagues, peers and management.
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations and follow processes and procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter and a team player.
