Job Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors for various construction materials, equipment, and services. Develop and maintain strong relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality goods and services.

  • Material Planning: Collaborate with project managers and site engineers to determine the materials and equipment needed for upcoming projects. Plan procurement activities to align with project timelines and requirements.

  • Request for Quotations (RFQs): Prepare RFQs and solicit competitive bids from suppliers and vendors. Analyze quotations to determine the best value proposition considering factors such as price, quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors, aiming to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and contractual agreements.

  • Purchase Order Processing: Create purchase orders based on approved requisitions and negotiated terms. Ensure accuracy in terms of quantities, specifications, and delivery details.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, addressing any concerns, issues, or performance discrepancies proactively.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory. Coordinate with warehouse and project teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the required quality standards and specifications. Conduct quality checks and inspections as needed.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and correspondence with suppliers.

  • Cost Control: Assist in monitoring project costs related to procurement. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to manage expenses effectively.

  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and innovative procurement practices. Use market insights to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.



  • Requirements


    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the construction industry.
    • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and suppliers.
    • Familiarity with procurement processes, including RFQs, negotiations, and vendor management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
