Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to create detailed project schedules using project management software. Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and establish activity sequences.
Resource Allocation: Determine the resources required for each project activity, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Ensure optimal resource allocation to meet project timelines and objectives.
Time and Cost Estimation: Estimate the time and cost required for each project activity based on historical data, industry standards, and project specifications. Assist in creating project budgets and forecasts.
Critical Path Analysis: Identify the critical path and key milestones within the project schedule. Analyze potential schedule risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate delays.
Progress Tracking: Monitor and track project progress against the established schedule. Collect and analyze data from various sources to ensure that projects are on track and identify any deviations.
Schedule Updates: Regularly update project schedules to reflect actual progress and changes in project scope. Communicate schedule updates to relevant stakeholders on time.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and delays that could impact project timelines. Collaborate with the project team to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure proactive problem-solving.
Reporting: Prepare and present accurate project status reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), deviations, and potential risks. Provide insights to project managers for informed decision-making.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of project activities.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in lessons learned sessions after project completion. Use insights gained to improve future project planning processes and enhance overall project efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in project planning or scheduling, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primate P6, Microsoft Project) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of project risk assessment and management techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
