Job Summary

Manager to join our QBO Advanced Product Development team. As a Sr. Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in the largest and fastest-growing business unit of one of the world's most admired software companies. Our mission is to power prosperity around the world, and QuickBooks is the world's No. 1 Cloud Accounting solution serving millions of small & medium businesses worldwide. Location: Bangalore, Karnataka Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master s degree in Computer Science or any Engineering Discipline. Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on software development and/or delivery experience. 3+ years of technical management experience in software engineering teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven software products with world-class quality. 5+ years of hands-on coding experience; 5+ years of delivery experience with Agile software development methodologies. Solid experience in Object-Oriented Design and programming concepts in Object-oriented programming. Candidates must be comfortable operating in an environment where constructive dissatisfaction with the current state is expected, and leading large-scale change is a must. Good experience of building highly scalable modern Saas products. Proven experience with Front-end technologies (Javascript frameworks), middleware technologies (Java, Spring etc.) and sound knowledge of at least one relational database required. Excellent working knowledge of AWS, building scalable and resilient services that leverage native AWS capabilities. Have proven expertise in building web-scale cloud applications. Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams. Adept at articulating the product vision and driving the future roadmap with strong business acumen. Experience developing scalable consumer-facing SaaS software using modern, open-stack technologies. Experience delivering high-volume, highly reliable, highly available services with a security-first mindset. Proven experience working as an engineering manager in an Agile/Scrum environment with an automation mindset and a DevOps culture. Strategic and analytical thinker who is hypothesis-driven and uses data, judgment & pattern recognition to learn and move quickly. Ability to lead complex change in an organization by articulating a clear case for change and then gaining shared vision with employees through effective, frequent, and timely communication. Ability to apply performance management rigor hire, mentor, coach, and develop directs and other high-potential team members to be the best that they can be. High energy, self-starter with a positive mindset and with a "can do" attitude. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience delivering applications and services utilizing AWS, Java, Restful Services, and Oracle preferred. Experience transitioning a monolith to a Cloud-based, service-oriented architecture preferred. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Lead key initiatives within the product development organization that creates the core Accounting functionality in QuickBooks Online, with special focus on building new functionality, decomposition of monolith, performance, resiliency, scalability, and monitoring. Bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example. Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and alignment with partners across the business (e.g. Product Management, Experience Design, Program Management, and Operations). Bring in external best practices, industry learnings and trends to drive continuous improvement. Lead and coach the team on data analysis and hypothesis testing to drive breakthrough benefits. Partner with engineering architects to drive advancements that improve product functionality. Drive the execution of critical architectural priorities to develop mobile-enabled, worldwide SaaS products. Partner with business and technology teams to prioritize roadmaps, requirements, balancing business need with financial and technology goals. Partner with operations team to quickly resolve production issues and ensure high availability through prevention, monitoring, and resiliency strategies. Build a culture of innovation, technical and operational excellence on the team. Use proven leadership techniques and interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, partners, and customers. Deliver business outcomes with quality at speed and in accordance with stated business and technical objectives consistent with Intuit s architecture principles. Execute in an intense, fast-paced, and highly iterative environment.
