Job Description Purpose of the Position : Provide ongoing technical support, write training manuals and instruct Database Administrators on best practices for snowflake database maintenance. Make it as easy as possible for database users to access the information they need and preserve information systems for future company developments. Key Result Areas and Activities: Study existing technology landscape and understand current data integration framework and do impact assessment for the requirements Administer and support DW on Azure along with security management and performance optimization Responsible for database design process, logical design, physical design, star schema, snowflake schema, etc. Analyze data processing, integration, modelling and reporting requirements & Define data loading strategies considering volume, data types ,frequency and analytics specifications Ensure optimal balance between cost and performance Project documentation, Adheres to Quality guidelines & Schedules Works hand in hand with Leads & PM for successful delivery of project and provide Estimation, scoping, scheduling assistance Migrate on premise data integration framework and storage to Azure platform Manage build phase and quality assure code to ensure fulfilling requirements and adhering to Cloud architecture. Resolve difficult design and develop issues Role Work and Technical Experience: Extensive experience in administering Snowflake data warehouse on the Azure cloud platform, including managing user access, virtual warehouses, databases, and schemas Proficiency in security management, ensuring robust access controls, role-based permissions, and data encryption within Snowflake on Azure Strong command of SQL language and expertise in fine-tuning database performance, including optimizing query execution, indexing strategies, and data retrieval efficiency Proficient in performance optimization techniques for Snowflake on Azure, including query tuning, resource allocation, and workload management, to achieve optimal database performance and responsiveness Solid knowledge of data security practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, disaster planning, and high availability configurations Hands-on experience in data governance in Snowflake, including column-level data security using secure views and dynamic data masking features Strong experience with CI/CD based deployments into Snowflake Ability to design and develop Snow sight dashboards within Snowflake, leveraging its visual analytics capabilities to provide meaningful insights and data visualization for business users Proficient in scripting and automation, utilizing tools like SQL scripts, Snow SQL, or Azure Automation to streamline administrative tasks, deployment processes, and data workflows. Strong knowledge of data replication for data sharing across accounts and for failover scenarios Hands-on experience in capacity planning and forecasting based on business needs and growth Implementation of performance monitoring tools and techniques to gain insights into query execution, resource utilization, and system bottlenecks Continuous improvement initiatives, such as automation of administrative tasks, monitoring and alerting systems, and self-service capabilities, to streamline operations and enhance productivity Expertise in cost management for Snowflake on Azure, implementing strategies to optimize cloud spend, monitor resource utilization, and right-size Snowflake resources based on workload patterns Ability to assess and integrate Snowflake with other tools and technologies in the data ecosystem, such as ETL/ELT platforms, data integration frameworks, or analytics tools, to enable seamless data pipelines and enhance overall data management and analytics capabilities Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in Snowflake administration, Azure cloud, and data warehousing, and apply them to improve operational efficiency and performance
