Job Description

1.0. Role Objective

1.1. Preparing the Operation Theater for all elective and emergency operative procedures.

1.2. Communication & informing Sr. Consultants, Anesthetist, other OT technician & support staff about all Posted, Elective/Emergency procedure, for timely execution.

1.3. Explain patients all required information about procedure in Ward and patient query resolution.

1.4. To prepare Patient for Procedure as per Pre-Procedure Check List, clinician & Anesthetist instruction (to do part preparation in absence of Ward Boy).

1.5. To ensure that all the necessary consent & payment are done for the procedure.

1.6. To make sure that all the necessary supplies/needs and surgical instrument are sterile & ready before the procedure.

1.7. Providing appropriate Surgical Position & doing Scrub, painting & Draping as per the procedure.

1.8. Providing assistance as Surgical/Anesthesia assistant during Operative Procedure.

1.9. Monitoring patients Vital sign & observing their status during Intra-operative period or in Recovery Room, and informing same to Anesthetist or clinician urgently if abnormality in then is observed.

1.10. Collecting, labeling & transporting advised tissue/blood sample, along with TRF to laboratory for testing.

1.11. Shifting & Monitoring Patient in Recovery Ward.

1.12. Following all standard rules, guideline and achieving compliances as per the policies of universal precaution, Biomedical Hazard, infection control.

1.13. Regularly doing emergency drill along with other staff like CPR/AED drills.

5.0. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

AUTHORITY:

EXPERIENCE 1-3 years of experience in operation theatre in the hospital & healthcare sector

QUALIFICATION DOTT (Diploma in OT Technician)/ B.Sc in OT
