Database Admin:

This position will be primarily responsible for Database Admin, Backup, Recovery Management and Operations support. We are looking at candidate who is knowledgeable in Microsoft SQL and Oracle database administration (60% SQL Database administration and 40% Oracle database administration)

This job is part of the Enterprise Systems and Applications Operations team and involves day to day management of Database Administration tasks, backups and recovery system, for ensuring smooth operation of very large size multiple SAP & Bolt-Ons environments.

The role is primarily responsible for fulfilling day to day DBA operations for Microsoft SQL & Oracle DB administration, backup / recovery, monitoring and troubleshooting failures. In addition, has accountability for ensuring data integrity, and providing detailed documentation of operational procedures.

Responsible for currency and patching of the SQL and Oracle databases as well. This person is also responsible in making improvements to the existing databases system to operate them in an optimized manner and or to improve the reliability and availability. Also responsible for participating in Disaster Recovery exercises in regular basis.

Microsoft SQL and Oracle DBA Key Responsibilities

Install, configure and administer databases.

Strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server(2012 and 2014 ) & Oracle 12c, 19c

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.

Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Troubleshoot Database and application performance issues.

Create copies of non-prod systems using prod systems (using backup and/or other methods)

Facilitate moving of work-loads to/from on-prem cloud to off-prem cloud.

Participate in calls with other members to address and troubleshoot application and or infrastructure related issues.

SQL Database Operational support to tech users

Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.

Ability to work independently and to work on call rotation is a must.
