The Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Shift Engineer to support and maintain a 100+ site, global network. While supporting our users, the person in this role will be working with state of the art network technologies including Cisco SD-WAN/ ISE, and Palo Alto Firewalls. We are looking for someone passionate about resolving incidents, automation, eliminating security risks and enabling our users and Hitachi Vantara to get their business done and help change the world.
Responsibilities
Monitor, operate, and maintain LAN, WAN, Remote Access, Firewall and VPN systems globally
Monitor the global network environment for security risks and takes appropriate action to mitigate them
Automation in network infrastructure management - script, ansible, python progamming to improve operational efficiency.
Monitor security bulletins and perform security audits of current network infrastructure and applications; perform applicable remediation
Participate in network deployment projects
Resolve trouble tickets in ServiceNow while meeting SLA objectives
Actively engage in root cause analysis of outages and other Problem Management processes
Perform administrator duties for Solar Winds Orion, Palo Alto Panorama, and LiveAction network management systems
Perform administrator duties for Infoblox IPAM IP address management server
Shift

The selected candidate is expected to be on site in the IT SSC in Hyderabad, India facility supporting oncall and shift system as necessary. Example shift below
7:30AM - 7:30PM IST, Sunday - Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays 7:30AM - 7:30PM IST
Providing USA coverage: (6PM - 6AM MST, Overnight Shift Sunday - Tuesday with alternating Wednesdays 6PM - 6AM MST)
Qualifications
Requires 5+ years of technical experience in the fields of networking and information security
Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing and supporting Cisco ASA or Palo Alto firewalls
Scripting and network orchestration programming highly desired
CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification a plus
In depth knowledge of:
o Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, WAPs and firewalls; Palo Alto Network firewalls; Blue Coat Proxy; Riverbed, Infoblox
o Network management tools: LiveAction, SolarWinds/Orion NCM, other SNMP tools
o Protocol analyzers (Wireshark or Savvius Wildpackets)
o Security protocols (IPSec), encryption technologies (3DES, AES)
o IDS/IPS systems
o LAN Protocols (10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, WiFi)
o WAN protocols (MPLS, DMVPN, VPN)
o Routing Protocols (EIRGP, OSPF, BGP)
