Job Summary

Specifics of the role:

Strategic
  • Responsible for preparing project execution strategy in line with the Annual Business Planning process for the company, formulating long term corporate goals and annual plans.
  • Participate in the Execution budget for individual projects based on the guidelines provided.
  • Define strategic initiatives that need to be taken to enhance the overall efficiency of Execution and enable cost savings.
  • Participate in discussions on pricing and product with Sales where required.
  • Responsible for aligning the procurement & contracting strategy to the project plan
Planning & Forecasting
  • Responsible for overseeing the detailed project planning of each project and preparing the detailed budgets for each project within agreed guidelines.
  • Responsible for reviewing at regular intervals progress on the Plan and budgets and keeping all stakeholders informed especially of likely variations
  • Ensuring that corrective action in case of variations is agreed with management and implemented and all stakeholders informed.
  • Ensure that required resources in terms of manpower, materials, contractors, and cash requirementsare planned for and required inter departmental coordination takes place smoothly
Execution
  • Overallresponsible to ensure timely completion of all projects as per planned schedule andwithin defined budgets.
  • Responsible to actively monitor all project progress on a regular basis with the concerned teams, take corrective actionsand raise concerns if any to all stakeholders and work at solutions to address concerns.
  • Periodically visit sites to have first-hand view on the progress of activities.
  • Monitor the performance of key contractors regularly with project teams to identify and address concerns if any and provide feedback to procurement if required.
  • Ensure that contract management is tightly controlled, and all commercial issues are addressed proactively.
  • Approve all payments to contractors after due checking by project, contracts, and budget teams for further processing.
  • Seek approvals where required on budgets, deviations from budgets and likely cost escalations as per delegation of powers
  • Approve all deviations in material procurement or costs as per delegation of powers.
  • Ensure all SOPs are followed by teams and institutionalized processes
  • Ensure all required compliance at sites are done and documents appropriately maintained.
  • Initiate cost savings and quality enhancement initiatives regularly to enable building a culture of quality and cost efficiency
  • Proactively monitor all cost elements to identify potential for savings.
  • Provide required support to statutory and other audits
Quality Standards
  • Spear head the culture of safety, health and environment in the company and ensure the same is inculcated into the culture of the Company.
  • Provide strategic inputs to the management in order to ensure safety requirements are ensure the same is adhered to and included in the processes, methods and techniques used on site.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety
  • Ensure proper implementation of QA/QC systems and compliance with quality standards at all sites.
  • Conduct periodic audits of all sites to ensure high standards of performance and quality.
  • Review quality audit reportsregularly and ensure that NCs are speedily addressed
Vendor Development
  • Conduct vendor evaluation based on set parameters to determine their ability to provide material / system / service as per Gera standards, within the budgeted cost and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the key vendors to have an assured supply of quality material on time as well as at the optimum price.
  • Establish and implement vendor quality improvement plans to bring about efficiency and inculcate the concept of ongoing improvement.
  • Create a sense of competition amongst the vendors by developing alternate vendors for procurement of material / system / service.
  • Ensure that the vendor performance audit is conducted on a quarterly / bi-annual / annual basis in line with the defined performance parameters such as delivery, quality, etc.
Team Development and Management
  • Lead team effectively tocreate an environment of high employee morale and performance
  • Ensureproper deployment of team on projects and other activities.
  • Regularly review performance of reportees and provide feedback
  • Ensure HR interventions when required to maintain a harmonious work environment Effectively carry out performance appraisals, assess capability and training needs of the team
  • Guide, coach, mentor and motivate the team towards superior performance.
