Job Summary

Role Business Unit Head

The Business Unit Head will report to the Exec team pf finova in UK, and CEO of GenX in India. The main objective of this role is to understand the business operations, and then integrate and define end-to-end processes to drive synergies between finova and Genx Info Technologies. You will build an autonomous and world class center, fully aligned to the technical products and configuration of finova and their clients and focused on driving top quality delivery and return on investment. The other important aspect of this role is to identify operational issues and improvement opportunities, get stakeholder buy-in and then drive transformation and re-engineering. This is a new role and its location is Gurgaon. You will ideally be an already established leader and a great team builder with a track record of transforming services and operations. You should have done this by taking cost effective measures; driving productivity; providing greater focus on quality whilst hiring people with the right mindset; mentoring, motivating and retaining talent. You will be responsible for making everyone in the offshore center successful and make it a cutting-edge Center of Excellence for the organization. You will have the necessary freedom and empowerment towards achieving these goals. You are strategic, have a technical vision, are forward thinking and have a strong business acumen, all of which are essential in this role. Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities and duties are stated below but not restricted to:
1. Business Unit Head will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the offshore delivery center.
2. Defining a transformation plan for the offshore development team based on discussions with stakeholders in finova and GenX.
3. Creating a scalable offshore center capable of delivering quality output at sustainable cost of ownership based on the agreed transformation plan. This will include planning for short term requirements to scale and how and where to utilize such resources when not required (bench) without affecting overall profitability of cost center.
4. Responsible for hiring right resources for the defined structure with the help of the GenX HR/ Recruitment team.
5. Identify training needs, define training programs and use the concept of cross mentoring at various levels within the team.
6. Define processes to identify and retain existing talent in offshore team.
7. Define and implement succession planning for important resources in the team.
8. Leverage your experience and leadership to transform existing functions to drive consistency and efficiency through your strategies and management.
9. Create healthy and competitive work environment which provides opportunities to retain the best talent by way of career growth.
10. Involvement in budgeting of the offshore team as a cost center within GenX and responsible to GenX management team for achieving agreed cost centre profit margins.
11. Understanding and meeting expectations of finova domain heads and management with regard to existing/new customer implementation.
12. Sharing inputs, if required, with all stakeholders in order to achieve end customer expectations.
13. Frequent travel to UK office for short (4-6 weeks duration) to medium (12-14 weeks duration) term to understand and involve in discussion with existing/new customers being serviced from offshore. Such stays may require almost half the time (up to six months) stay in UK during a calendar year.
Key Skills
1. A proven track record of delivering good quality work, performance critical enterprise software services projects on time, on budget and with quality.
2. 12 years or more relevant or leadership position experience in the IT industry, out of which 4 years experience directing an offshore software business for a UK/US client. At least 3yrs experience in a services business.
3. Exposure in defining and implementing a target operating model for an offshore software business unit with minimum 100+ people team and scaling operations as per demands of business.
4. Has spent time overseas in senior or middle level management position preferably UK/US.
5. Has built and led high performing teams with a track record of delivering high quality and cost-effective work.
6. Should be an excellent communicator with proven record of team building and engagement with team to keep the morale up.
7. Experience with quality standards such as CMMi, Six Sigma is preferred.
8. Analytical mind-set Analytical, data-driven and with a track record of innovation and out-of-the box thinking and solutioning.
9. Hands on Strong operating and process rigor, with focus on driving change and excellence.
10. Superior organisational and planning skills, excellent written/verbal communication and listening skills as well as exposure to managing international projects and operations.
11. Should possess strategic and tactical thinking abilities with strong relationship management and the ability to influence and convince senior stakeholders.
12. Coach, mentor, and develop people, including overseeing new joiners onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
13. Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility, agility and the ability to respond effectively to changing environments.
14. Innovative with demonstrated ability in challenging the status quo.
15. Well-developed interpersonal skills capable of dealing with all levels of employment and providing effective solutions to complex situations.

Desired qualifications
BE/ B. Tech./ MCA with advanced degree preferred (MS/ M.Tech, in Computer Science or equivalent) (MBA from reputed business School will be an advantage).
Minimum Experience: 12 years.
Preferred Skills
1. Experience running an offshore software business for a UK/US client is preferred.
2. Experience of living and working in the UK/ good UK cultural understanding is desirable.
3. Executive presence, self-confidence and communication skills.
4. Demonstrated history of living the values important to GenX Info Technologies Pvt. Ltd.: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.
5. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
