Department: Business Development Reports to: Sr. Manager & Head Retailer Outreach
Job Role: Builds and maintains retailer relations in assigned territory. Focused primarily on expanding retailer portfolio and/or strengthening existing retailer relationships. Identifies, develops and typically closes new sales opportunities.
Creates demand for our services by raising GIA s profile with retailers. Works with industry, local governments, development agencies and non-government organizations to link them to our service strategies.
Essential Duties:
Achieves business development goals as assigned
May do any of the following:
Laboratory:
- Expand retailer base by enrolling new lab business
- Drive visibility, awareness and recall for GIA brand
- Hold consumer/trade education and staff oriented initiatives with help from appropriate channel partners
- Drive campaigns for awareness of new GIA service offerings
Education:
- Create awareness and counsel for GIA Education courses among interested students
- Drive GIA s outreach initiative by taking GIA s appropriate course offerings to off-campus classes for Diploma and Extension
- Drive enrolments, oversee venue selection, on-site arrangements, logistics and other coordination for off-campus classes
Planning & Organizing:
- Record all activities in the CRM tool in prescribed work-flow
- Generate and use self-monitoring reports to stay on course
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity while recording activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification:
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Management or related field
Work Experience
- 1-2+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- They should complete GIA education : AJP/Lab Class
- Experience of Gem & Jewelry industry and/or working in a structured organization is preferred

- Solid functional knowledge / expertise in area(s) of focus. Experienced in B2B selling. Keeps up with industry trends.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and customer databases, ease and comfort working with cloud-based CRM tools

- Communication skills: Ability to address medium to large groups for delivering subject/BD presentations.
