Job Summary
The candidate shall be responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time. Oversees the distribution and transportation of goods from GNAL to the consumer. Will have people management responsibility.
Candidate should have post-qualification experience in Supply chain management/ logistic function of large scale Chemicals, Chlor-Alkali or Petrochemical organizations.
Candidate shall be responsible for overall logistic functions of the company and shall take care of inland rail road movement of liquid and solid material, development of new transporters with competitive rate, support export & trading cell for shipment of material, achieving document management of all logistic records for outbound movements and contract with transporter and logistics management companies to ensure cost effective, safe and timely movement of material and look after the weigh bridge operations and management.
His/her key responsibilities shall be
General and Task Management- Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, logistics providers, transportation companies and customer.
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well being of staff and goods which is being transported.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements
Ensure compliance with SAP literacy.
Candidate should possess following skills/ attributes
Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
Customer focussed
Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities
Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of customer order fulfilment.
Qualification : Engineering Graduate / Science Graduate and/or MBA (Marketing)/MBA(Logistics)Preference will be given to candidates with engineering background and/or MBA (Marketing)/MBA(Logistics)
