About the Role

The Assistant Manager position will be based out of Chennai location and reports into Global Process Manager - Payroll, Travel and Expense. He/She will be responsible for Global Payroll operations deliverables, implementation and administration of Payroll policies across geographies, strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, torchbearer to eliminate risks and manage effective compliance and support Accounting team in faster closures.


  • Operations Management

    • Supervise 8 countries End to end payroll operations

      • Work with 3rd party payroll service providers

      • Ensure successful delivery of salary payments, compliance and accounting.

    • Responsible for the successful delivery of India (~2000) & US (~150) employees Payroll.

    • Review Germany, Netherlands, France, Australia, UK and Canada payrolls

    • Brainstorm on process improvements & automation to enhance controls, mitigate risks in the process and systems

  • Stakeholder Management

    • Partner with Stakeholders - HR Operations, Rewards, Treasury, Accounting on projects and process improvements that impacts Global payroll positively

    • Collaborate with stakeholders on issues related to policies and processes and provide recommendations and implement change management to resolve the same in a timely manner.

    • Ability to message multiple levels of an organisation with ease and finesse.

  • Accounting

    • Month-end

      • Review Books closure accounting calendar and ensure salaries and accruals are submitted diligently and accurately

      • Review monthly Expense schedules and Balance sheet reconciliations

    • Year-end

      • Understand and support the Accounting team with all the supporting information required for different kinds of audits that run across the year

  • Compliance

    • Understand the Statutory compliance requirements of all Geographies

    • Ensure all employee and employer filings and remittances are in order

    • Monitor collection of acknowledgements/confirmations from service providers

  • Vendor Management

    • Conduct monthly business review meetings with all service providers

    • Provide and receive feedback on monthly performance

    • Monitor all deliverables as per agreed SLAs

  • Systems

    • Familiarity with leading HR and Accounting ERPs

    • A proven track record in the automation of HR and payroll processes

    • Ability to articulate business requirements

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of Strong Global Payroll experience

  • B.com or M.com or M.B.A Finance.

  • Details to attention across multiple layers of the Payroll processes

  • Ability to dig deep and hold the fort in case of situation arises

  • Demonstrated experience to spot issues and turn them into fruitful projects

  • Managed and groomed a team of 4 resources
