Job Description

Fractal Analytics is looking for a creative and capable QA engineer to help with our testing activities. The engineer will use his/her skills & experience to understand application architecture, end-user requirements and design/automate test cases to find flaws in the application.

Responsibilities

• Write test scenarios from requirements, test cases from test scenarios Automation & manually and follow the release timelines
• Story point estimation for the feature based on experience with minimal guidance
• Create and review automation test scripts
• Testing the application at large and at each level of integration
• Able to identify problems and suggest improvements, or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from past experiences and feedback
• Follow and introduce industry best practices in software development lifecycle while mentoring colleagues
• Escalate and resolve timely, the technical and module related issues via proper escalation matrix

Technical Requirements

Must have:

• 6-10 years of experience in QA and Testing
• E/B.Tech/ M.E/M.Tech/MCA degree
• Good understanding on Java/Python
• Experience of developing, extending and executing test automation frameworks using various design patterns
• Knowledge of SQL (should be able to write queries using joins)
• Understanding of web services and ability to work with Rest APIs
• Working knowledge of Jira and/or similar bug tracking tools
• Collaborate with developers, product owners to identify coverage areas and design tests.
• Write and maintain test procedures and documentation.
• Ability to create Functional Test Plans from lightly-defined requirements.
• Sound knowledge of Testing concepts and terminologies
• Familiar with SDLC Models and Defect Lifecycle
• Develop, maintain, document, and execute all test plans, test cases, test scenarios and test scripts as required by the project
• Identify, document and track software defects
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in Windows as well as Linux environment

Good to have:

• Experience in Performance/Load testing using JMeter/Load Runner
• Experience in Security Testing
• Experience of integrating automation tests into the build (CI/CD) process e.g. Hudson, Jenkins
• Knowledge about cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP would be an advantage
• Knowledge of TDD/BDD
• Certification from ISTQB would be also be an added advantage
• Experience working with web and applications servers Tomcat, Weblogic, Websphere etc. is a plus.
