Junior Associate

One of Chennai s fastest growing tech startups, with its head office in Chicago, is looking for a Junior Associate to join the Finance team at FourKites, directly reporting to the Associate Manager of Finance. The Junior Associate will support general accounting functions including but not limited to accounts payable, preparation of journal entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. This new team member will be a self-starter, nimble in an ever-changing environment and able to learn and to perform at a high level in a general accounting role of an entrepreneurial company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Payments to vendors based on credit terms & respond to all vendor payments related queries.
• Assist in collection of Accounts Receivables
• Timely bank reconciliations
• Calculate, post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
• Recommend process efficiencies and participate in improvements
• Collaborate with team members in US & India
• Ad hoc projects

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Hands on knowledge on US GAAP
• Previous accounting experience
• Attention to detail, ability to learn, and be nimble in a rapidly changing environment
• Proficiency with Excel
• Proficiency with Intacct or similar system
• Ability to pivot priorities with minimal notice
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced team environment
• Self-starter attitude with advanced time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated to work independently with minimal supervision and comfortable within cross-border team environment
