Roles and Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the PA include, but are not limited to: Assist with the curation and implementation of FAST India s flagship event, India Science Festival to make it the leading science event in India and the world Ideate and execute public engagement events for children and young adults Support the FAST India team with research and insight, recommending an appropriate approach specially for science communication Organize frequent science and technology events like panel discussions, seminars, talks, book launches, quizzes, conclaves, etc. Work with the team to build a branding and communications strategy for FAST- India Assist the FAST-India team with fundraising Handle FAST India s and ISF s social media channels Take on diverse operational tasks to ensure organizational success Aid the development and implementation of capacity building programs by primarily engaging with institutions, companies and quasi-governmental bodies Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Undergraduate degree from a top tier institution. While there is no preference for a particular major, we expect to see high degree of intellectual curiosity and sophistication 6 months to 2 years of work experience in a challenging/high growth environment. Preference for 1+ year work experience A strong interest in science communication and public engagement. Some experience in these fields is desirable A keen interest in event management, moderating live events and conducting interviews. Some experience in these areas is desirable A artistic eye and aesthetic sensibilities with an interest in designing creatives Passionate about science and technology with a desire to develop and strengthen the S&T ecosystem in India High intellectual vitality, the desire to continuously learn, read, and engage on a variety of topics. While the person may only have a basic understanding of science and technology, we highly value the willingness to learn Excellent analytical, critical thinking, planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail, accuracy, professionalism, and deadlines Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, social media and stakeholder-facing skills including great presentation and facilitation skills Desired Qualities Drive to excel in every aspect of work with high level of innovation and strong perseverance Ability to take initiative and develop solutions quickly and effectively Ability to understand and consider organizational culture and change Ability to liaise with stakeholders in the S&T community Ability to function and interact in a professional level capacity to sustain the mission, culture and best interests of the organization
