Responsibilities & Deliverables: Your deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following: Managing data governance tasks and upkeep of due diligence records, including review of adherence to data usage rights and compliance with policies, standards and applicable laws. Conducting data classification reviews, identify data minimization opportunities and prescribe de-identification methods for personal data, tracking risk remediation when standards are not met. Reviewing data asset records for anomalies and provide guidance to asset owners for corrections. Coordinating with stakeholders across the organization to achieve established data governance framework goals (data ownership, stewardship and custodian roles, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, data handling methods, usage rights, metadata management and regulatory compliance). Conducting training and awareness on data governance and data protection standards and procedures. Developing metrics and reporting for continued compliance with the data governance framework and company standards. Assisting with requirements, implementation, integration, and training for new data governance tools, standards and processes to improve the maturity of the Data Security program. Independently carrying out assignments, coordinating work with others, and keeping team members informed of project statuses and identified risks. Required Experience: A bachelor s or advanced degree in Information Technology or related field and 3+ years professional experience in a Data Governance, Data Security or similar role. Strong organizational skills and motivation for self-improvement and achieving results. Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with technical personnel, business stakeholders and management. Understanding of key data governance concepts and data management practices. Familiarity with common data privacy concepts and compliance methodologies. Ability to make independent judgments and accurately identify risks. Familiarity with SQL queries and practical scripting/coding experience, e.g., Python, PowerShell. Nice to haves: Certification as a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) or other Security certification (CISSP, CCSP, CISA, etc.) is preferred. Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, Power BI and data management software is preferred. Exposure to cloud-native application hosting and containers, APIs is preferred.
