Job Summary

Purpose of Role

  • Significant client interaction to understand the project specific requirements, client's processes, project and team management, training junior team members on subject matter and technical issues, answering questions on real time basis and constant & effective client communication.

  • Creating playbook and other guideline documents to ensure quality and consistent approach is followed.

  • Actively involved in mentoring and training new and existing employees, making them comfortable with the working environment and ensuring their continuity in the organization. Manager acts as a bridge between the management and the staff and seniors.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to review, analyze and comprehend clauses from a variety of financial documents like ISDA, CSA, Loan documents (syndicated and bilateral), GMRA, GMSLA, IMA, etc.

  • Subject-matter knowledge in derivatives and financial market industry and a clear understanding of a variety of clauses (and fallbacks) from derivative contracts, loan agreements, etc.

  • End to end project management including people management and client management. Lead projects with minimum oversight; point person for the client and the project team to spot/address/escalate all subject matter issues.

  • Must have expertise to conduct scoping/background research on the underlying subject matter and requirements and should be able to draft effective proposals for prospective clients.

  • Assist in the RFP process.

  • Lead project teams effectively by creating an environment that fosters core values and providing guidance to others.

  • Conduct project specific training sessions; mentor/guide junior team members. Responsible to track teams performance and be involved in appraisal discussions.

  • Lead client calls; Effectively communicate with the client with respect to instruction changes, suggestions for changes, and seeking/interpreting guidance; Able to effectively gauge client needs even if not expressly stated.

  • Be the main point of contact for internal as well as external stakeholders in connection with particular projects.

  • Innovate and improve upon current processes and techniques.

Scope and Impact

  • Financial: Responsible for completing the project within budgeted hours, or if the budgeted hours do increase due to scope change, raise a red flag to the higher stakeholders.

  • Business impact and geographic scope: Critical to delivery of abstraction services in delivery centers in Mumbai and Noida. Sometimes required to run cross-office engagement.

  • Team size 5-10

Skills

  • Strong subject matter expertisemainly in financial trade documentation space.

  • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple taskssimultaneously and maintain high levels of confidentiality.

  • Strong client- and externalparty-facing skills: main point of contact with external representatives inconnection with particular projects. Able to effectively gauge client needseven if not expressly stated.

  • Highly responsive to the needsof both internal (including reporting managers, other project managers and teammembers) as well as external stakeholders.

  • Strong project managementskills, including firm grasp of processes, metrics, andproductivity-implications of project workflow

  • General knowledge of processesand platforms that the clients use.

  • Proficiency inMS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Education /Certification
  • MBA

  • Lawyer (LL.B or L.L.M)

  • Non Lawyer (Any Graduate)
