What We Need We are currently looking for a self-motivated, DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you ll be involved in progressively improving and automating our compute systems infrastructure. We re currently engaged in projects involving Kubernetes, containers, automation via python, and enterprise virtualization. We re looking for someone with both experience and the appetite to tackle new technology challenges! Primary Responsibilities The job involves the following responsibilities: Deploy new Linux servers Participate in Systems Administration, DevOps and Security initiatives Troubleshoot connectivity issues, permissioning issues, and other day to day issues with the hosted environment Continue to innovate within our infrastructure by facilitating new technologies and upgrades Eliminate manual tasks and recurring issues through automation (via scripting or configuration management) Act as a Lead and work directly with our clients on issues related to our platform You are a great fit if We think you are a great fit if you like technology, like to get things done without people asking and enjoy a collaborative, laid back environment. Job Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have the following: Systems Administration Skills Hands on experience with RHEL and Debian-based distros (We use both) Strong understanding of the 7-layer OSI model and all host-specific network technologies and configurations interface bonding, VLANs, subnets, ARP, etc. Host based performance tuning experience understanding of Linux memory usage, CPU load vs. utilization, disk latency, and more Total comfort in working in the Linux CLI, including using vi/vim, emacs, or similar Understanding of user provisioning, groups, file modes, and basic Linux access controls Experience with different file system and storage technologies (what to use, when, and why): RAID, NFS, SMB. NetApp ONTAP experience is preferable Experience with Dell iDRAC, HPE iLO, or other equivalent hardware BMC for on-prem servers DevOps / SRE Skills Experience with automated configuration management tools: Ansible, Saltstack, or Puppet. Experience with any one tool is required, but we use Salt Experience with Github, Bitbucket, or GitLab. Knowing the basics of git is a must Exposure to public cloud environments highly desirable (especially AWS EC2 / S3 or GCP architectures). Experience with server / system virtualization and containerization technologies (KVM, VMWare ESXi, Kubernetes, and Docker). Experience with monitoring tools such as Icinga, CheckMK, Zabbix, or Prometheus Solid scripting abilities (Bash, Python, or similar) Experience in navigating a Kubernetes cluster via kubectl Security / Lock-Down Skills Experience with centralized logging technologies (preferably Elastic stack). Thorough understanding of centralized Identity Management technologies and how they tie into the production systems environment. Experience in evaluating security risks of a host or application as it pertains to its exposure to threats General Skills / Certifications Good documentation and communication skills Certifications in Linux administration (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, LFCSA, LFCE or equivalent) desired.
