Job Summary

Empower India s Data Science team is seeking an Assistant Manager who will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis to drive strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in identifying business problems, collecting and analyzing data, and producing actionable insights. You will also lead a team of 4-5 Analysts/Sr. Analysts, guiding them through complex projects and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem Understanding & Conversion: Understand complex business challenges and convert them into analytical problems that can be addressed using data science techniques.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Identify data requirements, collect and clean data for analysis, and interpret the results to drive business decisions.

  • Insights Generation: Use data modeling techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning to generate meaningful insights and justify the results within the business context.

  • End-to-End Project Management: Independently handle complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all aspects of the project are delivered successfully.

  • Proactive Opportunity Identification: Identify and drive analytics or data science opportunities that can add value to the business.

  • Internal Training & Development: Lead internal training sessions on relevant skills to enhance team capabilities.

  • Presentation to Leadership: Present analysis and results to senior leadership, highlighting strategic and operational changes based on data insights.

  • BI Reporting & Automation: Generate business intelligence reports and automate their generation processes for improved efficiency.

  • Business Needs Prioritization: Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs based on data insights.

  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of 4-5 Analysts/Sr. Analysts, guiding them in their professional development and ensuring project success.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Post-graduate degree in Business Management, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

Required Experience:

  • 7-11 years of experience working in analytics, data science, or a related field.

  • Experience in data modeling, generating BI reports, and automating report generation.

  • People management experience, leading a team of analysts.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and other analytics tools.

  • Proven experience in handling end-to-end projects independently.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and statistical techniques in analytics (e.g., Machine Learning, AI, Python, AWS, SAS, Tableau).

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical expertise in data modeling, using techniques such as Time Series, Regression, Segmentation, Clustering, Market Mix, Machine Learning, and AI.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex business problems, analyze data, and present actionable insights.

  • Ability to lead and drive cross-functional projects to successful outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to present findings clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of the US Retirement Industry and its data needs.

  • Self-motivation with excellent accountability and ownership skills.

  • Excellent team player who can adapt to organizational changes and drive the company s values forward.
