Job Summary

OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIESYour overall objective as an External Communications Specialist based in Mumbaiwill be to support all external communication efforts for the company.Primary responsibilities include:Media Relations managing the press office function including handling media(national and international) enquiries, enhancing relationships with regionalIndian media, creating and sponsoring one or two media events a year (editorslunch, content-based background briefings, etc.) and regular competitor newstracking. Preparing regular coverage updates for circulation to the leadership inIndia, and other groups in Firm communications.Reputation Risk Management supporting the implementation of the newpublic sector work guidelines in response to the recent enforcement of the Rightto Information Act. Proactively identifying reputational risk situations andworking with the Firms reputation risk management function to prevent,monitor, prepare for, and as need be, handle risks as they emerge.Web Communications working with the global web communications anddesign teams to create and launch an external website for the India office andadminister regular content and graphic updates.Alumni program developing an overall alumni program to facilitate regularcommunication with alumnus in India. Conceiving and overseeing two alumnievents a year across locations (one to be content-focused, the others social orcontent-based as determined by the Office)Practice Support working with industry and functional practices on externalcommunication initiatives to enhance reputation in the business community. Itincludes developing a reputation-building plan for individual practices, planningand organizing client development events, supporting other communication needslike audio-visuals, and practice white papers.Writing and Editing collaborating with consultants and cell leaders to identifytopics aligned with knowledge objectives and develop articles for both the mediaand internal quarterly. In addition, edit article drafts written by consultants forlogical structure, language, tone, and length.Special events working with global and/or regional external relations teams onspecial events like road shows, book tours, etc. targeting India.Recruiting initiatives providing communication support to recruitinginitiatives e.g. creating audio visuals, press advertisements,

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of four years of business communications experience, including asubstantial background in media relationsComprehensive knowledge of business issues and the management consultingprofessionThe ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environmentThe aptitude to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesOutstanding writing and editing skillsAn understanding of multinational corporate culture and work practicesMUST CURRENTLY BE WORKING IN AN MNC SETUP
