Data Engineer Job in Elucidata
Elucidata is hiring a full-time Data Engineer for our SaaS platform, Polly. We are looking for experienced professionals with an interest in data products, pipelining, and a knack for problem-solving. This role is an opportunity to shape the world's largest ML-ready biomedical molecular data Atlas.
Polly, Elucidata s proprietary cloud platform, delivers ML-ready multi-omics data to R&D teams globally. Polly has enabled the detection of multiple validated drug targets and identified eight drug targets across immunology, oncology, and metabolomic disorders. Polly enables discovery programs at Pfizer, Agios Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, and Yale and has 35+ research partners from premier biopharma companies and research labs.
As a Data Engineer in the product team, you will get the opportunity to expand and optimize our data pipeline architecture, manage the data flow and ensure data reliability. We are looking for someone who has an interest in data initiatives and is excited about ML and product problems in the field of biological data science.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain optimal data pipelines and monitoring systems
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, data monitoring etc.
Create tools and packages for bioinformaticians that assist them in building and optimizing their own production-grade pipelines
Actively participate in product discussions
Effectively communicate results to data scientists
Participate in code reviews
Key Qualifications Include
1-3 years of Python development experience
Prior experience with Dockers, AWS/Azure services, Workflow management systems like Airflow/Nextflow preferred
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal data to identify opportunities for improvement
Experience with big data tools like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka is a plus
Prior experience with Biological Data is a big plus
Someone with a "hustle and get things done" attitude; Self-starter with a dynamic, confident personality
