Cloud Engineer Job in Elucidata

About the role and company:

Elucidata is hiring a full-time Engineer - Cloud Service for its proprietary SaaS platform, Polly, that delivers ML-ready multi-omics data to R&D teams globally. Polly has enabled the detection of multiple validated drug targets and identified eight drug targets across immunology, oncology, and metabolomic disorders. Polly enables discovery programs at Pfizer, Agios Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, and Yale and has 35+ research partners from premier biopharma companies and research labs.

Biological big data will outpace data generated by YouTube and Twitter combined by 10x in the next 7 yrs. A single experiment can produce TBs of data. We're managing this ever-increasing volume of data by combining web technologies, big-data analytics and scalable cloud computing infrastructure. As a part of the Compute Engineering team, you will be contributing to a wealth of tools and technologies that power the applications on our cloud platform. You will get an opportunity to innovate, design and build cutting edge tools that will eventually help improve human health. Key responsibilities:

• Work on planning and building cloud-native tools that are highly reliable, real-time and accurate.
• Work with a team of cloud/Infrastructure engineers towards automating various functions including deployments, test runs, monitoring, logging, alerting and crash recovery.
• Deploy applications on AWS/Kubernetes clusters, using tools like CircleCI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm Charts, Terraform etc.
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use.

Key qualifications include:

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or Computer Science.
• 1-2+ years of experience of building highly scalable, cloud-native systems from scratch or adding substantial improvements to an existing system.
• Knowledge on the following technologies is desirable:
• A modern programming language like Python/JS/Java etc.
• CI/CD tools such as Circle CI/ Jenkins/ Argo CD
• Atlassian products such as Bitbucket / Confluence / Jira
• Monitoring tools like Rancher, Prometheus, Graffana, Harbor, Thanos, DataDog, Logstash etc.
• Database systems
• Job orchestration tools like Airflow, Nextflow etc.
