JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Database Administration

Job Mission: The senior DBA position will be responsible for maintaining the company s database (currently MS SQL Server/Oracle Server) including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, Monitoring critical events & documentation.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning.

Monitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise.

Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication.

Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and clients).

Set up and maintain database infrastructure for the company s BI needs.

Managing SQL Server/Oracle Server Database Administration functions involving:

Installation, configuration, High Availability and upgradation of server software and psyches

Daily health check of Production Server.

Involved in user profile creation and user rights management as well as releasing locks according to the user s request

Creation & administration of Jobs, Alerts and all database objects, including tables, indexes, views and procedures

Planning periodic backups, recovery, and monitoring procedures of all databases

Creating schema objects, logical and physical structures

Providing support to the customer sites that are having mission critical business environments

Providing post-implementation, application maintenance and enhancement support with regard to the product / software application

Integration with other modules, integration & user acceptance testing & extending post go-live support, including training support to end-users

Acting as escalations contact for mission critical & revenue processing applications and drive solutions with complete end-to-end ownership

Coordinating with activities related to development & test for Project Release

Qualification : MCA, B.Tech/B.E in Computer Science
