Summary:
Cloud Administrator (AWS) is responsible with installing, supporting and maintaining cloud / on-premise server infrastructure, and planning for and responding to performance and availability of the services. The candidate should also be having working knowledge of MSSQL and MySQL Database Management System. The responsibility would include basic tasks like running query, insert, update, delete etc. on MySQL / MSSQL instances. He will also be responsible for backups and provisioning of database instances. Other duties may include participating in calls, performing quality audit, building the knowledge database based on the unique incidents, client engagement and imparting training team. Systems administrator (Cloud) must demonstrate a blend of technical and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Answer technical queries (both initial and follow up) via phone, the ticketing system, email, IM Chat or rotational basisLog all issues and resolutions, while working closely with senior desktop engineers and IT management on problem resolutionCommunicate with users, explain issues and resolutions, update activity or train on new equipment or softwarePerform Windows & Linux Server administration and configuration for performing software upgrades and patchesInstall, configure and fine tune cloud infrastructureInstall and configure virtual cloud instancesPerform on-premise to cloud migrationMonitor performance and maintain systems according to requirementsTroubleshoot incidents, issues and outagesDevelop scripts for automating client/server functionsExperience on memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters and troubleshootingWork on scheduled tasks / activitiesEnsure security through access controls, backups and firewallsSupport cloud servers including security configuration, patching and troubleshootingUpgrade systems with new releases and modelsBackup monitoring and reportingDevelop expertise to train staff on new technologiesBuild an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policiesProvides on-call high priority 24/7 technical support as necessaryResearch questions utilizing a variety of resources, including KB / Standard Operating Procedure, senior level desktop support group, supervisor or managementAssist in maintaining an inventory of IT hardware and software assetsProvide clients with step-by-step instructions to usersEscalating IT issues to next level where necessary and keep user informedStay updated with system information, changes and updatesEnsure to adhere to clients compliance and governance standards and report any non-compliances to the managerContribute to the technical knowledgebase by adding or editing knowledge articles for consistency and sustainabilityParticipate & contribute in IT team meetingsFoster professional relationship with all colleagues by listening, understanding and responding to their needsPromote positive customer service attitude among peersSkills and Experience
