This role provides analysis of risks for a specific risk type (e.g. Credit, Market, Liquidity, Operational) and independently assesses material risks and/or key controls (as required), providing challenge where needed. They monitor risk exposures and performance or key risk metrics, using and reviewing the risk type methodologies and supporting development of these where appropriate. Role holders also support decision-making and approvals around risks and preparation of key risk documentation and reports. For Credit Risk: determines risk / return ratio and associated limit framework on client level lean risk transactions and assigns / approves credit ratings makes decisions and approvals based on their allocated authority level

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver component based development modules
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of overall projects
  • Challenge the design and architecture of agile projects
  • Review, plan, spec and build rapid development tools to assist the MRAC team to deliver the required objectives
  • Develop robust tactical systems with a strategic view to facilitate the following:
    • Data retrieval (multiple sources)
    • Data validation (checking the data via controls)
    • Data processing (enriching)
    • Data calculations (performing optimum speed for complex calcs)
    • Data reporting (displaying data via reports and web pages for slice and dice views to be consumed by the business leaders)

Your skills and experience

  • Grad/post-grad degree qualified in a numerate discipline
  • Broad financial market and product knowledge
  • Strong C#, Python, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF, JavaScript, SQL, Excel/VBA
  • Solid experience in using large datasets with experience in relevant software packages, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, SQL. Experience with additional programming languages is a plus, e.g. Matlab, R, or C++.
  • Strong quantitative skills, details-focused
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English speaking
  • Good eye for detail, numerically literate
  • Team orientated and motivated
  • Able to work on an autonomous basis and part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to cope well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
