Position Overview

Job Title: DevOps (Vice President/Associate)

Location: Pune, India

Role Description - Summary:

Experienced Dev-Ops engineer with 15+ years experience building and scaling services in a data warehouse environment (minimum 4 years experience). Must have managed teams of size 6+ members and working in a distributed cross cultural work environment. Should have prior experience of setting up DevOps practice from scratch. The candidate is expected to work closely with the Architect, Infrastructure, Application Owner (ITAO) and test automation teams to identify and establish DevOps practices aligned to the organizational strategy. The candidate will also be responsible for establishing/refining (as the case may be) configuration management, infrastructure buildout, automate our infrastructure, implement continuous integration, and train the team in DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployable system. Any prior experience around build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure would be an added advantage.

Your key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Tasks:

• Responsible for developing and implementing E2E Dev-Ops strategy along with appropriate framework and tool recommendations
• Improve CI/CD tooling where it exists already
• Help in consolidation and optimization of IT Infrastructure in the non-production environments.
• Implement and improve monitoring and alerting.
• Build and maintain highly available systems.
• Implement/Improve the CI pipeline.
• Implement and maintain monitoring stacks.
• Lead and guide the team in identifying and implementing new technologies.

• Experience and a track record of leading software development teams as Dev-Ops or Development Lead in a data warehouse set-up
• Experience in contributing to thought leadership in Dev-Ops practices and ability to lead design and development teams in defining, building and delivering industrial-strength software solutions.
• Experience within the financial services industry is preferred.
• Understanding the full Software Development lifecycle experience in Agile Delivery Model

Your skills and experience

Competencies & Experience:

• Must have lead Dev-Ops implementation for at least 2 large initiatives in last 3-4 years duration. Relevant experience in a data warehouse setup will be an added advantage.
• Expert in CI process & tools, automated testing, agile delivery context and passionate about delivering high quality software. Must be hands-on with Dev-Ops tool suits of CI/CD integrations using Jenkins, TeamCity or equivalent
• Good knowledge on Unix commands and environment
• Good understating of principals to maintain legacy code, experience of supporting legacy code
• Configuration Management experience such as Stash/BitBucket, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
• Managing non-production infrastructure with Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.
• CI/CD tool sets like TeamCity, UDeploy, SonarQube, VeraCode etc.
• Must be familiar and comfortable with Oracle as RDBMS

• Ability to present and communicate the architecture in a visual form.
• Ability to work under pressure and overtime to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Quick learner, pro-active and innovative

Nice to have

• Exposure to Capital market domain
• Familiarity to Jira and ALM
• Led team(s) in ETL/Data Warehouse projects/programs in Agile/Scrum software development atmosphere
• Working with global and distributed teams.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Hadoop framework
