Job Summary

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Collaborate with management to execute company EHS policies. Take lead in preparing EHS (Environmental Health and safety) plan for the sites as per requirements Run day-to-day operations of EHS such as life and fire safety, safety audits etc. Perform different types of work environment measurements (noise, light/LUX etc.) Ensure compliances with statutory provisions (local and national) and required documentation regarding EHS Ensure Compliance Renewals with Regulatory Authorities like Pollution Control Board on Air, Water, and Haz Waste Management, EPR on Plastic, Battery, E Waste and any new Regulations time to time. By using lean principles, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. Individual must be an effective communicator who can send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing to raise awareness about safety among associates of the company! Support operations in EHS issues. Mainly in production and warehouse but also in laboratory operations Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Be involved in safety inspections and in the safety committee, make risk assessments and Reporting TRFR, leading & Lagging safety Matrix on Monthly basis. Work with ergonomics, energetics, chemicals, exposures and environment etc. Establish and revise work instructions and policies Measure the sites performance against published requirements in safety policies. For all deficiencies, identify implementation plan and fix all identified deficiencies. Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity and provides management with accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives. Audit recordkeeping practices and Safety Database entries to ensure compliance to Cepheid global safety standards and local regulations. Audit the workplace, labs and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent Active stake holder for Design Develop, Execute, & Validate Capacity Expansion Projects like STP, ETP, Haz Waste Storage, Safety Enhancement Projects. The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor s degree (Environmental Science) with 5-8 years of related work experience OR Master s degree in field with 0-3 years of related work experience. Diploma in industrial safety from a Govt approved universities like CLI, RLI & RGIST, IIISM- Visveswaraya University will be preferred. Qualified work experience in EHS, > 3 years Computer experience: Office, especially Excel It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Must possess rich knowledge of local/ national/ global EHS regulations Exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and Global EHS Audits.
