*Job Description: COBOL/DB2 Developer (5+ Years Experience)*

As a key member of our software development group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our legacy COBOL applications and working with the DB2 database.
*Key Responsibilities:*- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.- Analyze, design, develop, and test COBOL programs to meet business needs, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.- Create and optimize SQL queries for querying and updating data in the DB2 database.- Perform system enhancements, bug fixes, and maintenance tasks for existing COBOL applications.- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers for continuous improvement.- Debug and troubleshoot issues in the application code and database, ensuring timely resolution.- Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.- Document code changes, technical processes, and procedures to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to contribute to the evolution of the development process.
*Qualifications and Skills:*- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming and DB2 database development.- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS programming languages.- Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers in DB2.- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of COBOL programs and DB2 queries.- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and version control systems.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time.
