Designation:

Assistant Managing Editor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Management:

• Reviewing client assignments to ensure clients objectives of publishing are fulfilled.

Quality Management:

• Responsible for ensuring FL quality improvement by sharing prompt feedback along with highlighting their strengths & weaknesses.

Training & Development:

• Training new editors on the quality and process knowledge.
• Troubleshooting editor queries as per requirements.

MANDATORY WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in editing/copyediting and/or conducting language quality checks (should be interested in learning new concepts along with language)
• High proficiency in written and spoken English (near-native) and the ability to explain language concepts to a layperson
• Ability to multitask, demonstrate urgency and drive, excellent time management skills, ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (primarily Excel and Word)
• Open to participate and oversee team tasks and activities

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Experience in publishing of scholarly papers in academic journals and ability to follow a publication s guidelines (style manual, handbook, etc.)
• Ability and inclination to take on responsibilities beyond defined role
• Knowledge of the STEM industry

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

BSc/ MSc/ PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Surgery, Dentistry, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences
