Senior Medical Writer
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop/review/revise article content based on novel research in various medical subject areas to ensure an error-free, enhanced manuscript meeting international standards of publication
- Ensure timely development and delivery of high-quality documents (manuscripts, abstracts, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc.) for publication in journals or presentation in conferences and of other written communication material supporting pharmaceutical brands, research activities, and business needs
- Ensure quality is maintained in processes as well as writing and editing output (complete quality management)
- Understand various journal requirements and ensure that articles adhere to the desired format and guidelines for successful publication
- Work with experienced international medical writers with relevant experience ranging from 5 to 20 years in order to assist researchers in their publication process
- Resolve author queries regarding their articles and any aspect of the publication process
- Provide assistance to the author, until the stage of publication and beyond
- Cater to all key stakeholders in the publishing industry: the author, the publisher, and the reader.
- Be adept at delivering solutions that are customized as per the client requirements
- Be involved in the end-to-end project management of medical writing and editing projects (for example, building quality procedures and protocols in compliance with the industry standards, coordinating with other teams for developmental projects and new products/services, generating performance metrics/reports, etc.)
- Provide reviewing, coaching or mentoring to team members, as appropriate
- Develop, maintain, and use necessary templates, formats, and styles to ensure that documents generated meet industry, internal, and client requirements
- Should be updated with relevant national and international publication-related and medical writing-related guidelines and protocols
Desired Candidate Profile
MANDATORY WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent subject expertise in medical disciplines
- Curiosity to delve deeper into existing and upcoming novel scientific concepts and medical techniques in the field of Medicine.
- Excellent English language skills and grammar concepts, and the ability to identify and correct punctuation and style errors.
- Good time management skills and deadline adherence
- Excellent research skills
- Previous experience with publishing papers is highly desired
- Candidates must be comfortable dealing with a gamut of subject areas under Medicine. Examples include Cardiology, Orthopedics, Hepatology, Endocrinology, Oncology,Gastroenterology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Nephrology.
- Should be open to working with other subject areas as well
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- MBBS/BDS/MD/PharmD/Master s in Pharmaceutical Sciences
