Overview

Comcasts X1:Engineering group is looking for an expert senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team in Comcast India Engineering Center, with a specific focus on API testing and Performance testing. We are primarily responsible for working alongside with the QA, Product, and Development teams in the Philadelphia/London offices to produce high quality entertainment applications that allow our millions of customers to access and watch recorded, On Demand, and live video content on X1 Set top box, iOS, Android, Web, Roku and Smart TV.

Core Responsibilities

• Systematically test large scale APIs that are being consumed by different entertainment applications for resiliency, reliability, load and performance
• Should QA the end clients (mobile/web) UI to ensure APIs are rendered smoothly
• Effectively triage, prioritize, and test fixes for bugs found during development cycles, and occasionally in production
• Work with the development and product management teams in Philadelphia/London to understand and contribute to requirements and test cases for new features
• Work with the automation team to increase automated test coverage in an effort to avoid having to run regression scripts repeatedly
• Investigate patterns of issues being reported by customers and trending in analytics data in order to reproduce problems and get them addressed
• Compare API performance and responsiveness release over release to identify and fix any regressions, or communicate the success of improvements

Attributes for Success

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Extensive (5-6+ years) experience testing Rest APIs and End to End client applications (iOS, Android, Web etc.,)
• 4-5 years of experience using industry standard API tools such as REST-Assured, Soap, Postman etc.,
• Proven expertise with testing REST web services and modification of requests/responses to test various server conditions
• Performance testing experience using LoadRunner, Jmeter etc.,
• Understanding of video delivery and playback on mobile/web clients is a plus
• Effectively contribute to and utilize defect and test case management tools
• Application of critical thinking to help solve complex problems
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to take initiatives to resolve the roadblocks and debug issues to replicate them
• Ability to effectively collaborate and the take the ownership to refactor and maintain test cases based on industry standards and best practices
