Job Summary
  • Responsible for monitoring the work flow in Emergency Room
  • Prioritizing and triaging the patient in Emergency Room
  • Deal with medico legal cases
  • Take necessary actions against code blue or code red alerts
  • Will initiate the admission process for cases that come through ER
  • Trained in disaster management programmes
  • Assisting in Emergency Procedures like Endotracheal Intubation, Central and peripheral Venous access, Ryles tube and catheter insertion etc.
  • Explaining the patient and attenders the clinical problems and risks involved to every patient visiting ER
  • Must have a good coordination with all the departments in the hospitals for faster quick functioning of ER cases.
  • Exercise principles of safety.
  • Responsible for patient care during the night as and when assigned
  • Accompany patients who are on ventilator during transfers in ambulance
  • Must make a check of ambulances on a regular basis and to cross check the inventories in the ambulances.
  • Responsible for attending to patients on call.
  • Participate in outreach clinics / programs as and when required.
  • Practise infection control techniques and evidence based practise.
  • Participate in welfare activities of the hospital
  • Is empowered to take emergency decisions related to patient care during non-availability of management team (nights & public holidays).

MD
