Job Summary Technical Expectations (Specific to Micro focus OMI):

Make clear agreements with end users about monitoring requirements/possibilities.
Configure policy templates. Manage Configuration Folders, configure Aspects and Management templates and assign policy templates.
Create RTSM views (queries) for monitoring automation, event browser, User group assignments, node management,
Parameterization of policy templates on a CI based instances
Configure Automatic Assignment rules
Configure Event and Event Storm Suppression rules (Thresholds, Start - End event, maintain exceptions etc.)
Configure Time Based Event Automation rules
Configure Stream Based Event Correlation (Event filters, Repetition rules, Combination rules, Missing Recurrence rules)
Configure & Manage Tools & Tool categories
Configure node groups
Configure dashboards, visualizations as needed
Working with Content Packs (Create, export and import)
Knowledge on SNMP traps, working with MIB files
Troubleshooting - Analyzing status of OMi in status page and using self-monitoring, OMi log files, LogGrabber utility etc.

Technical Expectations (General):

Very good understanding of Linux, Windows operating systems and Network fundamentals
IT Operations principles and practices
Good expertise in system and network administration
Good knowledge of network, system, and application monitoring principles and practices
Ability to understand the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems.
Ability to configure complex applications.
Ability to understand the business function related to the application
