Lead Devops Engineer Job in Cleartrip

The Lead DevOps Engineer will work as a hands-on member of the Infrastructure team in leading and defining a DevOps roadmap for Cleartrips IT Infrastructure for cloud, infrastructure, and application automation. The overall goal is to improve the experience, efficiency, elasticity of Cleartrips infrastructure through extreme automation.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly and collaboratively with engineering managers, software architects, and senior management teams to deliver infrastructure automation solutions. He should be able to lead through the full life cycle of DevOps projects: from requirements gathering through white-boarding, infrastructure automation design, tool selection, system design, coding, delivery, support, and enhancements.

As a Lead DevOps engineer, you will be central to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based systems including administration, performance tuning, optimization, scripting, and automation.

Description

The successful candidate will have strong experience with DevOps technologies for infrastructure automation (OS, System, monitoring, and applications), Cloud orchestration, continuous delivery, and extreme automation.

The key responsibilities are:

• Work as an active participant in an Agile development environment
• Work to oversee, design, implement and manage DevOps capabilities using CI/CD toolsets and automation
• Closely collaborate with software engineers to make it easy for them to roll out new code and test new features
• Run our infrastructure with Google Cloud, Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Make monitoring and alerting alert on symptoms and not on outages.
• Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actionsand then into automation
• Improving our Prometheus, NewRelic Monitoring or building new Metrics

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience working closely with Datacenter, Network, Server Virtualization and Cloud technologies.
• Have strong programming skills, preferably in one of these languages: - Go, Python and/or Java
• Have experience with Git, BitBucket, Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting, logging frameworks such as Prometheus, elastic stack, grafana
• Continuous integration and deployment (CICD) with tools such as Jenkins/Hudson. Should be aware of managing pipeline has to code.
• Understanding of Microservices architecture
