About the Position:
The Water Resource Engineer s core responsibility is to plan and design various infrastructure related to Lakes, Rivers and Nallahs. Hence, the candidate must possess knowledge and experience in construction supervision of water related infrastructure projects. S/he will ensure a functional, effective and aesthetic design for storm water & drainage projects, which accommodates the requirements of the client, local authorities, international standards and codes of practice and the requirements of other disciplines This is a full-time position.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate should have completed a Masters in Water Resources Management and/or Engineering and have upto 3-4 years of experience
OR
Have completed a BE in Civil Engineering and have upto 5-6 years of experience in planning, designing and implementing lake and other water body infrastructure construction projects.
Competencies or skills required:
Sound technical skills to innovate and design solutions
Strong communication skills in English
Extensive knowledge of hydraulic analysis as well as interpretation of water quality data
Very good command of related national and international codes and standards
Ability to prepare and oversee Bill of Quantities, time and cost estimates
Possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to manage time and resources effectively
Perform responsibilities of preparing study narratives documents, catchment studies and case reviews
In-depth knowledge of modern construction technologies for water bodies
Project scheduling and materials management skills

Good knowledge of Hydrology & Storm Drainage design software such as SPA SWMM, PC SWMM, HEC GEO RAS, WMS, StormCad, Auto Turn, Culvert Master, Flow Master, Fluent 6.3
Key Responsibilities:
Planning of water use and treatment
Planning and Designing of pump systems, pipelines for water or wastewater conveyance
Planning and designing of overall schemes, such as sewer improvement schemes or flood defense programmes, and associated structures, such as pumping stations, pipework and earthworks
Proficiency in water quality testing and other allied hydrological tests
Assessing the water resource situation and sustainability
Flood control strategies and mapping drainage systems
Studying the behavioural trends of the hydrological cycle and storm events in a particular area
Using computer simulation analysis and modelling software to predict extreme (flood and drought) situations
Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analyses
Assessing the water demand for irrigation
Watershed Hydrological Budgeting
Detailed hydraulic analysis of a complete water supply system
Water Balance static water bodies
Preparing construction-basis tender documents and reviewing technical submissions
Liaise with various bodies and individuals, including local authorities, government agencies, clients, contractors, residents, suppliers, technical experts and other consultants
Designing and reviewing structural drawings of irrigation structures
