Job Purpose and Impact The Product and Process Development Scientist - Edible oils will define and execute process and development projects of edible oils. In this role, you will be responsible for ideation, building business cases and project proposals. You will communicate the conclusions and follow up actions with relevant departments to ensure strong stakeholder management. Key Accountabilities Support edible oils and its different blends and provide direction to business on opportunities in the existing business and on new products that can be introduced. Support innovation of Edible oils portfolio, provide support on product & process developments, renovations & trends to business. Travel to meet customers, provide world class technical support. Build strong customer relationships and gain market insights, seeking for new opportunities and stay current with scientific literature and the general food industry to enable business insights. Supports marketing team for brand positioning and product claims with an emphasis on health science and nutrition research. Contribute to the innovation pipeline and portfolio with ideas for the conversion of scientific research and growth of distinctive product and process offerings and support parts of more complex innovation and cost improvement projects. Participate research and development innovation growth by collaborating with businesses and with technology partners such as universities, research and development organizations and industry forums. Conduct research and experiments and analyze results that include interpretation of completed trial results. Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff. Performs development and application work in lab to understand the properties of products and relates to the subject of study and develops protocols for formulation. Establishes product specifications, and coordinates with customers, plant operations, marketing, and commercial colleagues to ensure adequate solution given to business. Develops sensory methods and implement process. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Minimum of seven years of related work experience Other minimum qualifications may apply Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or other post-secondary degree Minimum experience in Edible Oils or related field Experience in Nutrition Science, health, and wellness Familiar with Indian food Laws such as FSSAI, Agmark and working knowledge on international laws such as FAO, WHO, EU legislations, Codex etc
