Global Business Services (GBS) is ABBs shared services organization which delivers operational and expert services in Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Legal, Global Travel Services and external Customer Contact Centers. With employees based in five main hubs and front offices, GBS provides mainly Business services to ABB teams across the globe as well as supports with external customer inquiries. This is a Fusion ShapeIn & ABAP- SME role reporting to the IS Service Owner, HR in the Global Business Services which is in Bangalore, India. This global project role will be accountable for the assigned deliverables of system integrations from/to Workday in the context of Project Fusion (until mid-2023). This project will transform HR delivery for ABB globally by moving from todays dispersed HCM landscape to an operating model that builds on a single Workday instance with best-of-breed add-ons for superior user experience for employees, line managers, HR professionals and applicants. Timely delivery of the required integrations by internal or external development (including the management of design, change, risk, issue, testing, decision and defect logs) is vital for the successful activation of the new system given the global go-live on one date. This project role will end mid-2023. A permanent assignment in the post-project support team will be assessed in due course.

Your responsibilities

• Being responsible for analysis and development of ABAP solutions within the SHAPEiN toolset for the implementation of assigned Payroll integrations. Analyzing, designing, building, testing and deploying against need for a consistent, efficient and supportable integration solution.
• Developing solutions within the SHAPEiN framework and following ABB design principles of code reuse, annotation etc.
• Liaising with required Information Systems (IS), Human Resources (HR), Payroll resources, complementing this with input from the functional workstream, the Workday SI and our integration partners (SHAPEiN) to design and develop robust long-term solutions.
• Taking ownership for the delivery of solution components, managing day to day development requirements within a larger development framework to timescales provided by the overall programme.
• Working in conjunction with and within the framework of the Integration partner SHAPEiN.
• Identifying risks and issues and escalating as required to Payroll Integration Team Lead. Providing regular status input for the Payroll integration lead to enable decision making.
• Ensuring all documentation deliverables are met, to the level of quality and compliance required. Adhering to all compliance requirements at all times including audit compliance with Internal controls over financial reporting, (ICoFR), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other regulations for access to and distribution of personal data within ABB.
• Being a champion in innovation, efficiency and effectiveness.
  

Your background

• Minimum 8 years+ proven ABAP development experience with SAP ECC.
• Excellent technical understanding of SAP HR and Payroll infotype structures.
• Very strong analytical skills, clear ability to critically assess proposed solutions.
• Excellent proficiency in English, clear communicator, MS Office, digital collaboration tools/platforms.
• Passion for quality and speed. Creativity and readiness for innovation to break new ground. Integrity when dealing with highly sensitive data. Can-do attitude. Problem solver. Resilience.
• Collaborative working style appreciating the inclusion of geographies, levels, functions and cultures. Developing others.
• Ideal candidate has proven experience working as an ABAP developer for ABB.
