Job Summary The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving secondary value and volume objectives within the assigned region. This role involves managing sales operations at the point of sale (POS), building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring efficient execution of sales strategies. Key Responsibilities Sales Planning and Execution Set monthly sales objectives and develop quarterly Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with authorized wholesalers (AWs). Ensure adherence to JBPs and monitor progress against established targets. Customer Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with AWs, retailers, and wholesalers. Assess customer needs and provide appropriate support and solutions. Ensure adequate infrastructure, including godowns, retail sales agents (RSAs), and units, is in place. Sales Operations Manage stock levels and ensure product freshness. Optimize stock norms using the CRSC system. Execute new product launches, consumer promotions, and trade marketing strategies. Implement merchandising and visibility standards. Team Management Train and develop route sales agents (TSIs) to enhance their performance. Conduct classroom training and provide ongoing support. Operational Excellence Identify market benchmarks and best practices to improve operations. Ensure adherence to company systems and processes, including hubbing, primary dispatch plans, and cheque availability. Manage claims and ensure timely resolution. Required Qualifications Graduate degree (MBA preferred). 5-6 years of experience in FMCG sales field operations. Strong understanding of FMCG sales principles and practices. Knowledge of SAP systems is advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
