Job Objective:
Collaborate with consultants, senior consultants and engagement managers to provide data-driven and analysis-rich research deliverables deriving strategic insights as per the client requirements. Associate Consultants are also required to assist in business development activities.
Job Overview:
Associate Consultants provide the first line of analysis that helps BA provide fact-based strategic and tactical insights to its clients. Associate Consultants are required to conduct in-depth secondary research and primary research, apply analysis techniques and derive insights for our clients. Associate Consultants may be required to travel for primary research.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
- Support project/ module lead with understanding the client requirements, problem definition, designing the project approach, recommendations, etc.
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the practice area (technology)
- Conduct extensive primary and/or secondary research
- Analyse data to extract insights and identify patterns (qualitative as well as qualitative)
- Develop proxies and triangulations for difficult-to-get data points such as revenue forecast data, market size numbers for niche industry segments, etc.
- Analyse findings for relevant trends, patterns and insights and apply them to help the team arrive at solutions/ recommendations
- Interact seamlessly with team members to ensure we deliver high-quality strategy consulting assignments that exceed client expectations
- Take complete ownership of the work assigned
- Produce output in the form of Power Point, Excel, Word, etc
- Manage vendor relationships and undertake business development activities by assisting in providing proposals, capability documents, etc.
Required Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Good business writing and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with high standards for written and visual presentation of information
- Good research, analytical, and numerical skills
- Logical thought process to think through a problem and develop solutions
- Ability to develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on data analysis
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.)
- Strong inter-personal skills, ability to work with teams in a time-line driven high pressure environment (typical of consulting firms)
- Self-driven with a high level of motivation and energy; a strong can do attitude; ability and willingness to work in a small and fast growing set-up
- Ability to pro-actively identify ways to contribute to firms goals & mission
- International experience will be an added advantage
Preferred Experience:
- 1-3years of experience, in either of the following profiles -
- Consultant for technology clients OR
- Corporate Strategy professional in large technology company OR
- Research Analyst covering technology sector OR
- Equity Analyst covering technology sector OR
- Market Intelligence/ Competitor Intelligence professional in large technology company.
- The candidate should have reasonable experience in
- Studying evolving technology trends and business model shifts in the industry
- Following large technology companies and their product/ solution strategies
- Following Mergers & Acquisition activity in technology industry and understanding its implications
- Advising on product/ services strategy or go-to-market strategy or business model design etc. for technology companies
- Understanding changing customer needs and its implications on technology industry
Educational Background:
- Bachelors degree (Engineering/ Commerce/ Economics) from a top-tier university (such as IITs, NITs, DU, etc.); MBA from a top-tier B-School preferred
