Role Overview
As a Chief Financial Officer'', you will work closely alongside other members of the C-Suite at Bombay Hemp Company. You will play a critical role in budgeting and internal control processes, reporting, working on improvements in the companys working capital and liquidity position, as well as closing investor-related deals. In short, you will play a pivotal role in the companys well being from a financial point of view.
Specific roles and responsibilities:
Budgeting and Control: You will spearhead the companys budgeting efforts, provide financial projections, and ensure expenditures are controlled.
Pricing and Costing: Your inputs will be instrumental in matters related to costing and deriving pricing strategies.
Reporting and Monitoring: You will oversee your team in ensuring that monthly (and annual) accounts are closed within stipulated timelines as well as monthly internal and external reporting is adhered to. Moreover, you actively monitor financial performance by measuring and analysing results, and provide corrective actions where necessary.
Compliance: We aim to be compliant with all authorities at all times. Hence, the Chief Financial Officer is a key authority on ensuring financial and statutory compliance is in place.
Working Capital Efficiency and Liquidity: As we grow as a Company, it is important to be on top of the companys working capital as well as ensuring that the company has plenty of liquidity to carry out its operations. You will be the go-to person to strategize around working capital, but also manage the companys liquidity on a day-to-day basis. This entails maximising the return on invested funds as well.
Investor Relations: You will be a critical part of the Investor Relations team where investor interactions will fuel your intellectual curiosity as well as add to your Finance acumen. You will be the point of contact for investors for any matter related to Reporting, Finance, and Compliance.
Internal Control: Discipline lies at the heart of our Finance and Accounts department. You will oversee this critical part and be a critical driver of improvements across the function.
Requirements
5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management practices.
Proficient with the use of MS Office
Masters degree relevant to Finance/Accounting
A team player with a proactive and a go-getter attitude
Critical thinker who comes up with pragmatic solutions with respect to the task at hand
Demonstrable leadership skills in a professional environment with a passion for Finance
An eye for detail
You are comfortable with accounting software, spreadsheets
Professional certifications (e.g. CFA, CA)
Required - finance skill with 5+ years experience
