Staff Specialist Product Developer Job in Bmc Software

Contributing member of the Development team responsible for developing and debugging of software products under the guidance of senior leaders. The role requires a good knowledge of product domain, the Agile software development methodology and the process involved in product development and maintenance. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Accurately estimates the size and scope of the development effort of projects. Develops and tests product code according to BMC quality standards. Candidate must be motivated, think and work independently as well as within a team to provide quality solutions, and have strong communication skills. Able to manage a mixed workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development and product maintenance.

Skills and experience:

10+ years of experience designing and developing mainframe applications and system exits in an IBM z/OS environment.

Strong experience in z/OS Assembler including 64-bit programming, JCL, VSAM, CICS, JES2/3, SDSF, ISPF.

Strong experience in at least one DBMS (IMS/DB2).

Strong Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills.

Strong experience in z Enterprise Architecture, z/OS Internals and Control blocks, User Exits, Address Spaces, Data Spaces, etc.

Strong experience in z/OS Cross Memory Services, ESTAE and ESPIE, FRR, z/OS Common storage, etc.

Good experience on channel programs and I/O channel subsystem.

Experience on batch optimization products is beneficial.

Experience in REXX is beneficial.

Experience in APF Authorization is beneficial.

Experience in Agile methodology and use of Jira.

Experience with writing documentation for developed applications and features.

Strong English communication skills.
