Job Description Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux Server operating Systems & VMware infrastructure Day to day management of Linux servers, including support and server hardening as per the guidelines Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Identification of automation opportunities within network infrastructure. Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such asbackups. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. Creating and managing domains, disaster recovery strategies, upgrading Software/Firmware Experience in vCenter Activities, vMotion, Clone, Template Creation, Hardware/vmtool upgrade, Snapshot, Disk Consolidation, etc... Good Knowledge in VMware Logical Networking, Virtual Standard and Distributed Switches. Good understanding on HA, DRS clusters Knowledge in Dell/HP Blade servers Coordinating with different lines of services with SLA, Incident Escalation, Progress Monitoring & RCA preparation 3rd party vendor coordination and troubleshooting Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive Must be Open for shifts and weekend on-call support ITIL: Incident Management, Change Management & CAB participation Qualifications RHCE equivalent VCP or equivalent
