Job Description Lead Data Engineer As Lead Data Engineer, you will coach and mentor a team of 6 data engineers, providing technical guidance, support, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers/owners, business analysts and stakeholders, to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data engineering solutions. Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize performance, scalability, and availability of the Metrics Store data product. Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in data engineering, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Proven experience (3+ year) in a leadership role, managing a team of Data Engineers or similar roles. Proven experience (7+ years) in data engineering, including designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data solutions. Expertise in programming languages like Python and proficiency in SQL. Solid understanding of data modelling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes. Experience with Azure cloud-based data platforms such as Synapse, Data Factory, and Power BI. Experience with Power App /Dataverse Demonstrated experience in driving simplification efforts to improve solution quality, reduce bugs, and enhance development efficiency. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data engineering challenges. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will come to report to the Head of Data Platforms.
