Job Summary
SUMMARY OF POSITION:This position will be responsible for all the activities related to Customs requirement to release the
shipment. Avantor Mainly Importing Chemicals required NOC from Different departments FSSAI /
CDSO/ Sanitary Department & Diagnostic Instruments & Reagents which require NOC from ADC as
well. He/She will also be responsible for Avantor licenses maintainence to import certain products. Also
justification to be given if any query raised by customs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Formulate strategy for the territory & ensure delivery of business plan (sales plan)
2. Must be well versed with all custom formalities to clear the shipments as per customs law & regulations, that include availing exemptions under different notification and as per Preferential Trade Agreements of different countries with India.
3. Must know the requirements of County where we are exporting the material (MEA & SEA)
4. Knows about import & Export regulations of the product we are importing or Exporting
5. Must control the Product master (1000 different types of chemicals in an Year) so that we must be
complied in all aspects
6. Liaising with government bodies like Customs, ADC, FSSAI, etc.
7. Shipping line approval of all chemical shipments as per Compatibility check and segregation as required.
8. Classification of all imported material under correct HSN codes and correct duty to be levied on the materials to avoid any future demand from customs.
9. Attend queries by customs & other partnered government (regulatory) agencies with regard to EXIM.
10. Demurrage & Detention control.
11. Freight Management and Agreements with Service Providers their validity & renewal.
12. SVB Regulations for related party transactions.
13. DPD & AEO benefits with Customs.
14. SEZ Transactions.
15. MIS & KPI measurement of all service providers.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ON-GOING FUNCTIONS:
Clearance of Import & Export shipments on time. Coordinate with cross functional teams to increase efficiency in operation. Knowledge sharing with the team members to achieve the business objectives of the region Resolving various queries at Customs & other regulatory agencies like ADC, FSSAI, etc. with respect to the Export-Import shipments. Providing import documents to CHA on real time basis so that Bill of entry is filled. Thoroughly checking of Bill entry before finalisation to ensure proper H.S. Code, rate & other parameters are properly filled. Ensuring 100% Import clearance as per the compliance and regulatory norms. Coordinating with freight forwarders, CHA, transporter and Custom for smooth flow of shipment. To ensure timely, cost efficient and safe dispatches of the Air & Sea shipments. Ensure timely clearance of Bonded materials to SEZ/ EOU customers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduate / Post Graduate in any field. Specialization in Customs will be preferred
Experience: 8-10 yrs for industry experience
Experience in Chemicals / Pharma Preferred
Skills/Qualifications:
Candidate with MBA / PGDM would be preferred
Skills/Competencies:
- Understanding of Customs and regulatory with regard to EXIM
- Knowledge of custom clearance, HS Code and duty structure.
- Knowledge of restricted products for import & export
- Dual use NOC
- Analytical Skills
- Negotiation skills
Other Skills:
- Communication Skills (Verbal, Written, Presentation)
