Job Summary

Job Role

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at AutoRabit combines software development, systems engineering, and customer support to build, operate and support the AutoRABIT Software-as-a-Service offerings. These SaaS-based products are highly reliable (self-healing) and highly available (self-scaling), ensuring that delivery of AutoRabit's customer-facing services has the extremely high availability that our customer base, containing many Fortune 500 companies, can comfortably rely upon.

The SRE team monitors the capacity and performance of our system so that they can respond to trouble at the first sign, rather than face an outage. Software development within the SRE team focuses on optimizing and building cloud infrastructure, supporting software platforms, and eliminating manual work through automation.

The SRE team s ultimate goal is to deliver AutoRabit services in high quality and professional way while aiming to ensure the long-term success of our business and the happiness and confidence of our customers.

As a Product Owner for SRE and Platform, you will develop the strategy & roadmap focused on creating ultra-scalable-and highly reliable Software-as-a-Service delivery and support system. In partnership with the engineering and program management teams, you will lead the execution of associated projects. You have strong experience in Product Management, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure, and systems management. You enjoy operating on quick iteration cycles while working with demanding customers and multiple stakeholders. You are extremely technical and were a developer, sysadmin, or engineer in the past.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide the service delivery vision, leadership, and guidance through the creation of service delivery platform roadmaps, goal setting, user story writing, and deployment strategy in conjunction with a team of enthusiastic and capable scrum team and SRE engineers.
  • Identify opportunities for service and support improvement; work with customer support and engineering teams to develop service level objectives, delivery expectations, and metrics.
  • Participate in release planning and sprint planning meetings to effectively map out goals and specific deliverables.
  • Attend daily Scrum stand-up meetings to provide clarity for the Scrum team.
  • Story mapping, in collaboration with an enthusiastic team of product owners and developers.
  • Maintain a well-defined backlog of prioritized user stories, adhering to AutoRABIT s Definition of Ready, so that the Scrum team has 2 months worth of product backlog items upon which to work.
  • Document features, keep meticulous notes and collaborate with the other Product Management team members.
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to provide collateral material to describe features, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Work with the customer success and enterprise support teams to handle customer escalations and other support issues requiring intervention by the product team. Drive cross-organizational alignment between the engineering, architecture, customer support, and product managers to support reliability for customers, set priorities, and drive overall strategy for SRE operations.
  • Work with the product engineering, security, and SRE to define and architect operational systems needed for availability, performance, capacity, and security of customers, products, and platforms.
  • Work with engineering to improve the management of the production environment by automating tasks as appropriate.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years experience in product management for SaaS platform products. Must have a strong track record of execution and successful product delivery.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Scrum methodology. Must be a strong, disciplined product owner. Scrum Alliance certificate is a plus, as is previous work as a scrum master.
  • Strong preference will be given to those candidates with knowledge of Salesforce.com APIs and their limitations.
  • At least 2 years experience working in Jira. Experience with Confluence is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience and familiarity with other industry-standard ALM platforms, and or defect tracking tools and SDLC practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and craft a compelling platform vision.
  • Experience working with development teams deploying services into a cloud-based microservices production environment in the cloud using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience and willingness to work with remote teams in vastly different time zones during different times of the day. Ability to work with customers and employees during their business hours, even when halfway around the world.
  • Prior DevOps experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructures such as ELB and AWS autoscaling.
  • Must have a great, positive attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Extremely strong (essentially native) written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, but always productively

Education and Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, hard science or equivalent experience is REQUIRED.
  • AWS Professional Certification is desired.

Work Schedule: Must be able and willing to support customers in the US and worldwide, as well as collaborate with the team in Hyderabad, India.

Travel Required: less than 10%
