Role description:
We are recruiting a Senior Process Engineer to join our Water & Energy Business, with a focus on both water and wastewater process and industry and municipal treatment. Experience of Energy, or other industries would be of interest. The role can be based in any of our GEC offices.
Role accountabilities:
- Undertake process design work on projects as required, supervise, and check the work of assigned engineers as appropriate.
- Develop the basis of design according to needs, undertake detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations.
- Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and / the Arcadis Way of Design and Engineering.
- Bringing or building a strong profile in the industry and keeping up to date with innovations and developments.
- Support our digital strategy whilst keeping abreast of the technology within the market.
- Working independently as well as with team on various projects in line with client requirements.
- Support in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.
- Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
- Analyse data to evaluate the performance of existing client s assets and develop site condition reports
- Develop process flow diagrams and mass balances including the interfaces and basic hydraulics between process units.
- Production of control philosophies and commissioning plans.
- Develop process and performance specifications.
- Perform safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOPs, SIL and other safety reviews as directed
- Liaise with other Engineering Disciplines by contributing to the review of supplier quotations, the project 3D CAD model and other multi-disciplinary project activities.
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a National level (e.g. conference presentations, publications and participation in technical committees).
- Lead by example to promote continual improvement in SHE performance across the business.
- Work in a flexible manner with our various clients.
- Willingness to do secondments with different clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor s and/or Master s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent, is essential.
- A minimum of 8-12 years of total experience within the process engineering field.
- Sufficient and appropriateadeptness in process engineering (process design), preferably in regulated water but possibly in other relevant fields within the utilities and power sector.
- Experience in (at least two of them) drinking water, wastewater and sludge treatment processes.
- Chartered or working towards becoming a Member of IChemE or equivalent institution.
- Have experience, including participation in the development andimplementation of technological and innovative solutions, in the field of process engineering.
- The ability to be client facing whilst working collaboratively to form strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Take responsibility to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required.
- Knowledge, learning and development around digital tools, such as process modelling, simulators and others.
