Vertica Admin/dba Job in Aptus Data Labs

4+ years of experience working with HP Vertica Database systems Deep knowledge of database architecture and internals like WOS, ROS, Delete Vectors, trouble shooting and capacity planning. Experience managing large scale (50+ Terabytes) and high transaction volume database systems on Unix/Linux platforms. Able to design, architect and provide reference architecture and best practices on Vertica platform. Hands on role with a focus on Database Management, DB design, SQL and performance tuning, SQL best practice and memory allocation. Should have excellent debugging skills to investigate query and application performance issues. Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting and working knowledge of application development using Java Working knowledge of storage solutions and networking protocols and components such as SAN, TCP/IP, UDP, and DNS is a plus Ability to troubleshoot unix/linux system logs and understand and determine issues at OS/DB level and fixes. Strong communication and presentation skills Great analytical and critical thinking skills Experience with monitoring tools HP Vertica Management console and other UNIX monitoring is highly preferred. Willing to work on 24*7 rotation at client location with different constraints.
