Senior Manager-risk Management Job in American Express

8+ years of experience in risk management and governance or a similar role.

Masters degree in a relevant quantitative field like Finance, Economics, Finance and Risk Engineering, etc. or relevant work experience in the risk management space.

Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with business partners, functional owners, capabilities, technology teams and external stakeholders.

Understanding of the regulatory landscape for large banks including specific supervisory guidance around risk management frameworks (e.g., OCC Heightened Standards).

An understanding of foundational risk management frameworks including financial and non-financial risks faced by a financial institution and their potential impacts on the Company s operating environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information sets effectively and succinctly for consumption by regulators, senior risk leadership and Executive Committee members.

Comfortable with bringing structure and thought leadership to changing priorities and ambiguous requirements and delivering on insightful outcomes that support risk management objectives for the Company.

Strong attention to detail and sense of end-to-end ownership of processes and deliverables.
